Before implementing iChannel in 2005, SSI was like many typical insurance agencies, T-filing documents by date and physically constrained. Remote offices ran independently and central office staff would spend a great deal of time in each office. Jim Schubert, EVP, realized that imaging was critical for their growth. iChannel allowed SSI to centrally store and access files from anywhere in the world. They were able to start expanding by opening additional offices in Georgia and Florida. With each office having access to all client information and documents, remote offices now feel that they are part of a big company. "The Ellijay office, way out in North Georgia, was no longer the step child!", Schubert stated, "We can now open an office overnight anywhere." Revenues have also doubled in this time. Internal processes benefited from establishing consistent policies and procedures across all offices. SSI can now monitor what staff does and put restrictions on how documents are handled. They no longer have missed work that was untracked. "We feel confident that every piece of mail that comes in was "handled" due to the great [Routing] Queue facility in iChannel.", said Schubert, "Running in the cloud, allowed us to be able to do this without any full time IT and one receptionist handling all 8 locations.
